Calculation method of CEPI (Confederation of European Paper Industries) is commonly used method in calculating the carbon footprints of wood products. It takes into account the special characteristics of forest industry.

CEPI defines the 10 most important factors in calculating the carbon footprint. UPM Timber uses seven of the factors, because we calculate the CF from the cradle to the gate. The packaging, end consuming and disposal are not taken into account.
