CF statement is the carbon footprint profile of a product. The carbon footprint statements of UPM Timber are created for one sawmill and for one raw material at a time.

Statement includes the explanation of CEPI calculation method, the actual carbon profile and finally what is and what is not included in the calculation.



Biogenic CO2 (kg/m³ of sawn timber) is for whitewood 700 kg/m³ and redwood 810kg/m³
Fossil CO2 (kg/m³ of sawn timber) is for whitewood 60kg/m³ and redwood 80kg/m³

Biogenic carbon footprint means the amount of carbon dioxide stored in the wood product and fossil carbon footprint means the actual emissions during the product’s life cycle.

The bigger the fossil carbon footprint is the greater are the emissions created.
