What is carbon footprint?

Carbon Footprint (CF) means the total amount of GHG (greenhouse gas) emissions created during the life cycle of a product.

Carbon Footprint calculations are an excellent tool in finding out, which stages of the life cycle create the most emissions and how to reduce them.

Carbon Footprint of wood products is divided in to two different meanings.

Biogenic carbon footprint means the amount of carbon dioxide stored in the wood product and fossil carbon footprint means the actual emissions during the product’s life cycle.

The bigger the fossil carbon footprint is the greater are the emissions created.
